Winterwarm presents the DXC heater, a gas-fired heater specially developed for heating poultry houses. The appliance gets its combustion air from the outside and also emits the flue gases outside again; the basis of the DXC is based on technology that has been used satisfactorily in the industrial market for many years.
The DXC is a direct gas-fired heater, available in 3 capacities (60, 80 and 100 kW) with a closed combustion system: heating according to this concept means no CO 2 and no water vapor in the house. This has 2 important effects: a decrease in energy consumption due to a lower ventilation requirement, and an increase in the yield per cycle due to lower disease and mortality rates. Calculations show that up to 25% energy costs can be saved.
The DXC's design also takes into account the conditions of use in a poultry house: the housing is made entirely of stainless steel, the heat exchanger is easily accessible for cleaning via 3 panels, and the equipment is stored in a splash-proof cabinet. This guarantees the lifespan of the device. The combustion process is very stable because clean outside air is used for this. The device is therefore less sensitive to malfunctions.
