The ultimate Loudspeakers
NOBLE AND DISCREET
Let your eyes follow the rim of the rounded shapes. See the softness, sense how the cover carefully encapsulates the technology inside. Your first time with Oslo will touch your eyes and open your senses. The vivid colours, the surprising texture, the sensation that there’s much more below the surface.
The embroidered volume-buttons at the front, hinting: I am a loudspeaker. Inviting you to approach, explore, discover. Oslo is for real. Oslo is authentic, Oslo is genuine. An upright, compact design that whispers ‘Move me around, place me wherever you want.’ It’s Nordic aesthetics at its finest: Non-intrusive and discreet, yet remarkably confident about the statement it makes in any interior. Look at the lines and linger in the most laid-back luxury one could imagine. No bragging, no bling. Simply made to be noticed.
The early morning holds the most perfect hours of the day. I’m an early bird, and I find it such a serene moment. That silent, misty lapse of time before the streets fill with people. When I was younger, I had a job at a coffee shop. I had to be there at 5 am. I remember getting there in the dark, the bright, untouched snow reflecting the city lights. I think this was the moment I began enjoying the first hours of the day.
I don’t get away from the city that often. So I find my peace and solitude inside Oslo. Luckily, it’s what I would describe as a quiet, big city. You find these secluded spaces where many people are present, yet things are peaceful. The city works as a mood palette. I enjoy silence, but I also like to wander around wearing my headphones. It’s like observing the world through a window; it triggers my imagination. The music I listen to plus the things I see sort of work together to create new narratives in my mind.
I grew up just outside Oslo. It was true suburbia, everything so neat and quiet. My parents have always been calm, decent people, telling me to study hard and work hard. When I was 16, we moved downtown.
I was so restless back then, and tired of school. So I worked in temporary jobs until I found the education I wanted. Lately, I bought three Pileas. I had been working so much on my computer and realised I needed to do something else from time to time. When I grow tired of the digital work, I pamper my plants. I water them, take care of the plantlets, put them into new pots. One hour of doing this is like a total reboot. Timelessness I something I honour in objects. I don’t go shopping that much. I care for simplicity in my surroundings. I do have some items from my parents’ home, though. I have this white sculpture of a boy picking a thorn out of his foot: it’s a replica of the tombstone placed on my mother’s family’s gravesite. I like the things I own to have a history, or that I can see a potential in them.
CLOSE YOUR EYES IN ORDER TO SEE
On a recent trip to the US, I bought Bob Dylan’s Original Mono Recordings. A complete compilation of his first eight albums in a remarkable sound quality. When I got home I spent an entire evening sitting on the floor in my living room, listening to the vinyls. It was just … you know, it’s physical what great sound does to you. A sort of whoosh when it touches you. That sound on those records was so unique. You felt like you were actually there, at the Columbia Studios, just in front of Bob and his guitar. It was ... well. It was what music should always be like. It was true, authentic sound in all its splendour.
The things you cherish the most. From mere everyday basics, they grow over time, becoming your indispensable travel companions through life. How come? No one can say. You just know it when it’s there: It simply feels right.
It appeals to the eye, the ears and your fingertips. Wool is perfect natural imperfection; it’s comfort and coziness; it’s a reassuring, basic feel. A universal material, revered through time for its resistance and the way it ages beautifully. By a simple touch of Oslo you will truly understand the craftsmanship, the durability and the inherent quality of this product and the materials it’s made of: What you feel is what you get.
A soft texture. A warm touch. The surprising feel of Oslo comes from its wool cover. Selected yarns carefully woven into a specific pattern, designed by Kvadrat. Reflection and intuition accompanied the entire work process during which Kvadrat translated their tactile knowledge to the domain of sound. Numerous hours and heaps of rough, smooth, bulky or silky weaving samples later, the fabric created is essential to the entire product experience.
IF GOLD AWARD
The Oslo loudspeaker just received the extremely prestigious iF GOLD AWARD for its outstanding design. "The Danish-designed Vifa Oslo is a gorgeously appointed Bluetooth speaker that will look great in your living room: the perfect link between technology, sound quality and long-lasting design. The soft and well-formed handle extends in a single stroke from the speaker body, while upholstery-grade fabric covers the rest of the unit. The interface is hidden. Nothing more and nothing less!" These are the words of the jury behind the German iF International Forum Design-award, justifying the choice of Oslo for the special iF GOLD AWARD.

The embedded battery makes it possible for you to enjoy your music literally everywhere. Superior power capacity, lifetime and eco-friendliness are ensured by Vifa’s choice of Lithium-ion batteries from renowned brands very high quality level. These batteries deliver high power instantaneously and keep the dynamics in the music you listen to.
The Vifa 50mm full range driver act as midrange and tweeter at the same time and thereby handles the frequency range from approx. 250Hz up to 18000Hz. Left and right channel full range drivers are spaced apart as much as possible and angled slightly backwards and to the sides to satisfy optimal performance at various listening heights and maximum stereo width. It sits in its own separate enclosure to avoid modulation from the woofers and for exact control of roll-off characteristics. The full range driver is designed with a rigid and light aluminum cone and dust cap with specially designed geometry for smooth and extended frequency response. A vented aluminum voice coil former ensures low moving mass and good cooling properties. A copper cap on the pole piece helps to reduced unwanted distortion and extends the frequency response. The powerful Neodymium magnet ensures high efficiency in a compact size. It all adds up to a very coherent and natural reproduction of the midrange and treble frequencies bringing out that authentic sound experience.
FORCE BALANCED WOOFER
The Vifa Force Balanced Woofer incorporates two identical 65mm diameter custom made woofers mounted back to back. The Force Balanced Woofer is positioned in the speaker enclosure so that one woofer is radiating from the front side and the other is radiating from the rear side. Both woofers move in and out at the same time but due to the 180 degree opposite orientation, the mechanically induced vibrations that would normally be transferred to the enclosure are outbalanced by the opposite movement. The two woofers are mechanically fixed to each other – rear side against rear side – forming a very rigid and solid construction that forms a perfect platform for the woofer to start and stop with great precision and also to maintain the precise and undisturbed micro movements of the woofer. This enhances bass precision greatly and forms a very strong mechanical connection between front side and rear side of the speaker enclosure. This leads to lower coloration and lower mechanical vibration noise.
SYMMETRIC PASSIVE RADIATOR
The Vifa Passive Radiator uses a 45mm x 80mm flat rigid cone that moves with a resonance frequency determined by a precisely calculated weight/mass mounted in a soft linear long-throw suspension. This is to some extend comparable to using a bass port tube also referred to as a vented system. For a small enclosure, a vented system would require a long and narrow tube in order to obtain a resonance frequency low enough. This would take up a large portion of the limited volume inside the enclosure and also create loud noise as the air moves in and out of both ends of the narrow tube. The Passive Radiator takes up no space inside the cabinet and creates no noise. The Symmetric Passive Radiator design by Vifa uses two passive radiators mounted on opposite sides of the speaker cabinet at equal distances from the active Force Balanced Woofer. This outbalances the mechanical impact on the cabinet and ensures same work load on both woofers and both passive radiators. It all adds up to a very impressive bass reproduction from a physically small speaker.
DIGITAL PURE PATH AMPLIFIER
A great audio amplifier multiplies the input signal and provides the amplified signal to the drivers without lacking power or adding artifacts. At Vifa we have a straightforward and simple strategy to designing amplifiers. We keep the signal in digital domain as much as we can, so it won’t be affected by noise. Next, we handle the digital signal just as gently as if we operated in an analog domain. The amplification in our products is handled by switched (class-D) power amplifiers of the Digital Pure Path type. It has four powerful separate amplifier channels for maximum headroom and optimal performance. It conjoins with a high performance DSP (Digital Signal Processor) which completes the 100% digital signal chain and complements the product by having very low noise output, low distortion and a high dynamic range. With this, we obtain the authentic sound that has become Vifa’s trademark.
